Labour Day Weekend Cleanup – 3 Home Improvement Jobs to Tackle this Upcoming Labour Day Weekend

About Me
How to Increase the Size of Your Home

The moment my husband and I stepped into our house, we fell in love with the place. However, after we had lived in the property for a few months, we noticed that it didn't have enough living space. We sat down one day and worked out an improved layout for our home that would increase the amount of space available to us. We called in some contractors to complete the work and we are really pleased with how it turned out. I decided to start this blog to share our home construction journey with anyone who is considering enlarging their home.

Labour Day Weekend Cleanup – 3 Home Improvement Jobs to Tackle this Upcoming Labour Day Weekend

As Labour Day draws nearer, you may be preparing to take a well-needed break with your family, to soak up the last of the summer sun before autumn creeps in. However, this long weekend is also the ideal opportunity for you to tackle some of those home and garden improvement tasks that have been begging to be taken care of all summer.

Here are three home and garden improvements that you can attend to this coming Labour Day weekend.

Replace Your Old Furniture

If you have been longing to get rid of your current set of ageing furniture, now is the time. Arrange for a skip bin to be dropped off at your place on Saturday morning, and by Monday afternoon, you could be waving goodbye to your old furniture from the comfort of your new sofa.

Lay Some New Carpet

It might be time to replace your old carpets with something that will provide your home with a little more insulation for the upcoming winter months. Whether you're hiring someone to do the job or doing it yourself, you can probably expect to have your new carpet laid by Monday, giving you a chance to relax before you go back to work on Tuesday.

Trim the Trees in Your Yard

If the trees in your yard and driveway have become a little overgrown over the summer months, this is the ideal time for you to do a little pruning. Trim back those branches overhanging into neighbour's yards and the tree in your driveway that dumps tons of leaves on your car each autumn.

A local skip bin provider can drop off a skip bin in which you can dump your garden waste if you are planning a complete overhaul of your garden. Bear in mind, however, that soil is generally not allowed to be dumped in skip bins. You should also inform your skip bin provider in advance if you plan to dispose of any old mulch in the skip bin, as mulch tends to be a heavy waste. This will allow your skip bin provider to help you decide upon an appropriate size for your skip bin in terms of cubic meters and weight allowance.

Labour Day weekend is generally a great time to spend with the family, but if you plan on labouring this coming Labour Day weekend, ensure you are prepared in advance by hiring a skip bin for your waste.
